Baby Names I Love But Didn’t Choose
For me, pregnancy wasn’t particularly fun. There are some women who genuinely enjoy pregnancy for one reason or another, but that just wasn’t me. Perhaps I could have just shifted my attitude, but I was hyper-focused on the limitations I had plus I had a bunch of unfortunate symptoms - carpal tunnel in both hands, sciatica in my lower back, etc.
One part of pregnancy that was totally fun, however, was choosing baby names with my partner. There was a lot of back and forth and some disappointment since we didn’t settle on my favorite name but ultimately chose the perfect name for our child. I can’t imagine calling her anything different. I was calling her by a shortened version of her first name pretty early on in the pregnancy and I would talk to her in the womb as if she had already arrived.
So here, I have compiled a list of the names my partner and I discussed (and vetoed) and some extra names I just love a whole lot. If you’re reading this and expecting, I hope you’re able to find some names you and your partner/spouse love. Fair warning - I love some good old grandma/grandpa names!
